Creative Critical Reflection

Below is my CCR on this project

Storyboard

Image
For my storyboard I used storyboardthat.com. This was recommended by a friend of mine and it surprisingly yielded good results. Though the last slide may be confusing it represents a fight scene.

Editing Stage 2

Image
Below is my completed edited opening scene: I'm currently looking for any errors that may be in this video but if non are found this will be my final edited opening.

Editing Stage1

Image
For the editing of my fil opening I used Clipchamp. Though not completed here is a sample of what I currently have.  As shown here there are a few things that need to be fixed the continuity of the last scene which represents a type of flashback.

Production- Stage 2

I've officially started on videoing my film opening. As stated before my first scene will be inside the classroom. Along with my first scene I've done my second scene. Both scenes will combine to create my film opening.

Production - Stage 1

Image
This week we are assigned with the task of producing our film. What this means is that we are on the last stage of our film production process. As you know the the majority of filming is a film camera; we will use whatever technology we have available to us drawing from the list: phone, camera, or even a digital camera.  The device I chose for my production was a phone but after much consideration I decided to settle on my phone. Tis is because I don't have a digital camera. Though it would be best to use one since they have far superior camera quality.

What my storyline look like?

The first scene will take place in my classroom at school. The next scene will be on the football field. The next scene will be at home and the last scene will be at the hospital. This is just a break down of what i have planned. I'll go more in-depth with later blogs on my script.

Target Audience

Image
A show similar to mine is Euphoria. Later on I'll do  Case Study on this very show to go more in-depth on how I can compare it to mine. Euphoria is aimed at teenagers aged 17 and up, according to the show's creator, Sam Levison. Because a 17-year-old has had very different experiences than a 14-year-old, you can show more explicit content and still communicate your message effectively. The show was distributed on HBO max.  Since both shows are similar they will have similar target audiences. However mine will be more censored so people younger than 17 can watch.

Case Study: Euphoria

Image
Euphoria Euphoria is aimed at youngsters aged 17 and up, according to the show's creator, Sam Levison, according to movieweb.com. Because a 17-year-old has had quite different experiences than a 14-year-old, you can exhibit more explicit content while still effectively communicating your point. The hit show Euphoria is about drug use, nudity, violence, and a typical adolescent life crisis. Furthermore, because the show emphasizes the good and "the good inside the bad" aspects of adolescence, it's reasonable to believe that teenagers will relate to and connect with the series' plot. The television show Euphoria is classified TV-MA by filmmmyrating.com, which means it is intended for mature audiences. As a result, minors under the age of 17 are not permitted to view this series. Euphoria, a teen drama directed by Sam Levinson, was released in June 2019. Rue, the primary character, is played by Zendaya. She's also known for her appearances as Rocky and KC in the

Genre History

Image
The Genre of genre of my movie will be Drama. To be more precise it will be a teenage drama centered around the stress teenagers go through and how they cope with such stress. The history of my genre have a long line going way back in the BCs.  Aristotle's Poetics, written around 335 BC in Greece, is the oldest definition of theatrical genre. Over 2000 years later, the forms of tragedy and comedy that he described still exist. In its most basic form, tragedy involves human beings confronting superhuman forces such as gods or fate.

Production

Image
After getting my thought together on what kind of movie I want I've been looking into production companies near me. First lets explain what a production company is and how it will benefit me. A production company, house, studio, or team is a corporation that creates the physical foundation for works in the domains of performing arts, new media art, film, television, radio, comics, interactive arts, video games, websites, music, and video. As shown production companies work with a range of media types. However, for me I'll need a video or movie production company.  The production companies that I've found are Solfo Studio, Plum Productions and Canvas Films. These listed production companies are the nearest to me as shown from my research. However if I were to expand my view companies like Universal, Disney and HBO. I wouldn't use any of these companies as the cost is too much. However my previous listed ones would be ok for my film.

Distribution

Image
A distributor is a company that provides products to shops and other businesses that sell to consumers directly. In my context its going to be a company that provides as way for audience to view my movie.  After completion of my movie I'll need a distribution company. This is to promote viewing of my movie. I plan on using YouTube as my production company. This is because its a free app and I don't have any other company to use as I'll have to pay. This again ties into budgeting of my film. Also if I do have enough viewing on YouTube I can earn money.

Marketing

It is quite easy for films to go ignored, especially in a world where thousands of films are launched on various platforms every day, making it very easy for yours to go overlooked. However, I do have a few options for increasing my film's popularity. Even though I don't have much to work with, I must make the best of what I have, which includes my voice and social media. I might go film festivals to promote my film and speak with directors and producers about my work. To advertise my film, I could host a release party, such as a movie night where people may come eat popcorn and watch the movie.

Cinematography

Image
Cinematography is the art and technology of motion-picture photography. It involves such techniques as the general composition of a scene. To have a profound movie cinematography is an essential facet if not the most important. Of course it will be expected of me to deliver a very good understanding of cinematography through my opening scene. As such it is important to know the shot types within this field. Extreme Long Shot extreme long shot to make your subject feel distant or unfamiliar. Long Shot This is used to keep your subject in plain view amidst grander surroundings Full Shot This lets your subject or subjects fill the frame while keeping emphasis on scenery Extreme Close-Up Shot This can be used in order to create suspenseful moments for the viewer. Close-Up Shot The close-up shot is usually used to Express a significant emotion and identify a moment of extreme importance to the story. Medium Shot Medium shots draw attention to both the character and their surroundings. High

Character analysis

My characters will include Oshane Allen played by me, Levon hall done by himself, Juan Perez and Serena Peoples. Oshane will be the MC who goes through all the challenges of adolescence and high school. The movie will feature how he copes with these challenges. Levon will be the antagonist responsible for some of the MC's pain and depression at school. This is because he'll be playing the bully role. Serena will be the inspirational character that tries to help the MC through his rough times. Other important characters would be the teacher.

What I have in store for my film?

Image
With an idea in mind of what I want for my movie. I plan to adjust it to my available recourses and materials. These include facets of Mise-en-scene. The setting will be provided by my school since it will be filmed there. That is Coconut Creek High school. Other facets of Mise en scene will naturally be adjusted to fit the requirements.

What are my references?

Image
To get further information on what is expected of me I looked at past candidates blog post. They were highly informative with examples of different subjects to address in the blogs. One candidate in particular was Mikayla who showed above average skills on her blogs which were acceptable for my standards. Every notion or idea that the student had was typed in each blog sample that I looked at. When I write, it appears as though I need to establish a connection with my readers or viewers.

What is my film?

Image
With my anime loving characteristic I plan on making my movie a fanstasy genre with cinematic action scenes. My film I plan on going with an action/revenge genre that depicts an assassin who have lost use in the sight of his king. The assassin is the hero who in time is betrayed by his king the villain. Other characters would include the kings right hand man.  Though most of these scenes wont be added due to the fact that my assignment requires only the opening of my movie. I plan on making a revenge story with highly characterized superpowers or magic. Though I lack funding to make an effective setting, since its to be in a medieval era, I plan to make the best of my situation. The name I have come up for my movie is "Hashassin: Into the Darkness". The naming  represents the movie in many ways, which I will be highlighting over the course of my blog posts.  Alternate Movie Recently I have been challenged with the practicality of my first and second movie ideas. As such I
